Saturn is the sixth planet from the Sun and the second largest in the Solar System. It revolves around the sun once every 29.5 years and has a mass 95 times greater than Earth's. First sen by the astronomer Galileo in 1610, Saturn's bright rings are composed of ice chunks and rocks ranging from as small as a dust particle to larger than a car. Saturn's ring system is so vast it extends hundreds of miles out from the planet's surface.
Planetary Spheres
. Inspired by the designer's interpretation of the solar system, each weight takes a team of 2-3 artists to create. These carefully formed designs use a wide spectrum of specialty colors, dichroic glass, glow material, and precious metals. Pale and lovely, the Ice Dwarf sparkles with iridescent dichro and soft blue and pink highlights.
Approximately 5" diameter.
Handmade in Seattle, each weight is crafted from high quality glass formed with ash from the Mt. St. Helens eruption of 1980.
